4 g of oily i-benzyl-3-aminomethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-6-oxo-1H-azepino(5,4,3-cd]indole (see Example 10 for preparation) were reacted with benzaldehyde by the method described in Example 2, and the resulting Schiff's base was reduced by the method described in Example 2. The reaction mixture was worked up as described in Example 2. 4.3 g of 1-benzyl-3-benzylaminomethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-6-oxo-1H-azepino[5,4,3-cd]indole were obtained.
