To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(3-(3-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-1-oxo-2-(quinolin-3-yl)-1H-inden-6-yloxy)propyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (42 mg, 0.1 mmol) obtained in Step 2 in CH2Cl2 was added trifluoroacetic acid (20 eq, 1.0 mmol). After being stirred for 1 h, the mixture was diluted with CH2Cl2 and basicified to pH 9 with a 3N NaOH solution. The organic layer was washed with H2O and brine, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated in vacuo to provide the title compound, which was used in the next step without further purification.
