A mixture of 3-trifluoracetyl-7-(5-methyl-isoxazol-3-yl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine (7.1 g) and K2CO3 (12.1 g) in 1:1 methanol:water (400 ml) was heated at 50° C. for 1 h. The mixture was cooled, poured into water (500 ml) and extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic layers were dried and evaporated in vacuo to give the title compound as a yellow oil (3.9 g).
