Potassium iodide (4 mg, 0.02 mmol), potassium carbonate (45 mg, 0.33 mmol), and benzyl chloride (41 mg, 0.33 mmol) were added to a solution of 3-chloro-4-[3,3,3-trifluoro-2-hydroxy-1-methyl-2-(2-methyl-pyridin-4-yl)-propyl]-phenol (Example 73, 50 mg, 0.14 mmol) in acetone (3 mL), and the mixture was refluxed for 3.5 h. The green suspension was filtered, the solvent evaporated, and the title compound (14 mg) was isolated from the residue by reversed-phase, preparative HPLC (Agilent Zorbax XdB-C18 column, solvent gradient 5-95% CH3CN in 0.1% TFA[aq]). MS (m/e)=436.1 (MH+).
