To a mixture of N′-acetyl-3-(2-(5-bromo-3-phenoxypyridin-2-ylamino)thiazol-4-yl)propanehydrazide (0.100 g, 0.210 mmol) in 5 mL acetonitrile was added POCl3 (0.0769 mL, 0.840 mmol) and the reaction was heated at 50° C. for 72 hours. The mixture was concentrated to dryness, diluted with water and extracted with CH2C2. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound (0.029 g, 30.1% yield). 1H NMR (d6 DMSO) δ 2.50 (2, 3H), 3.00 (t, J=7.4 Hz, 2H), 3.17 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 2H), 6.76 (s, 1H), 7.11 (d, J=7.6 Hz, 2H), 7.21 (t, J=7.3 Hz, 1H), 7.40 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 7.44 (t, J=7.9 Hz, 2H), 8.22 (d, J=2.2 Hz, 1H), 10.99 (s, 1H).
