Procedure
A solution of sodium (S)-1-((2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl)cyclopropane-1-sulfonate (1 eq) and phosphoryl trichloride (POCl3, 0.7 mL/mmol) is heated at 80° C. for 1 hour. The reaction mixture is cooled to room temperature, poured onto ice, stirred for 30 minutes and extracted with chloroform (2×). The combined organic extracts are dried (MgSO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure.
