860 mg piperazine was added to 350 mg 2-chloro-4-ethoxy-pyridine in 3.5 mL n-butanol. The reaction was stirred 1.5 days at 115° C. The reaction was filtered and the filtrate was washed with water and evaporated. 1N HCl was added to the residue and the precpipate was filtered to give 238 mg of the desired product.
