A solution of 3-[5-bromo-3-[[1-methyl-1-[2-(phenylmethoxy)phenyl]ethyl]amino]-2-oxo-1(2H)-pyrazinyl]-5-fluoro-4-methyl-benzoic acid, methyl ester (Example 252h, 10.50 g) dissolved in THF (100 mL) was treated with cyclopropylamine (7.61 mL). Isopropylmagnesium chloride (45.2 mL of a 2.0M solution in THF) was added dropwise over 10 min under nitrogen. The resulting solution was stirred at 25° C. for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with saturated ammonium chloride solution (300 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (×3). The organic was dried (MgSO4), filtered and evaporated. The crude product was triturated with diethyl ether and filtered to afford the subtitle compound (9.86 g).
