1,1-Dimethylethyl cyclopropyl{[2,3-dichloro-5-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenyl]methyl}carbamate (1 eq.) from Step 3, Amine 6 and sodium bicarbonate (1 eq.) were suspended in CH2Cl2 (0.1 M). At 0° C., DMP (1 eq.) was added and the resulting mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 15 min and then at RT for 45 min. The reaction was quenched with 1 N aq. NaOH and extracted with ether. The combined organic extracts were then washed further with water and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and the filtrate concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound as an unstable, colorless oil.
