Procedure

To a solution of the (1S*,3R*,4S*)-3-(methoxymethoxy)-4-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)cyclopentanol (150 mg, 0.663 mmol) prepared in Example 106b in dichloromethane (2.0 mL), bis(2-methoxyethyl)amino sulfur trifluoride (0.26 mL, 1.33 mmol) was added with cooling on ice, and the reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. To the reaction solution, an aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution (10 mL) was added, and an organic layer was extracted. The thus obtained organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. After vacuum concentration, the residue was purified with silica gel chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate=2:3) to yield the title compound (132 mg, 87%) as a colorless oil.
