Procedure

A solution of the (1S*,2R*,4S*)-4-{[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}-2-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)cyclohexyl benzoate (367 mg, 0.885 mmol) prepared in Example 162e and potassium carbonate (245 mg, 1.77 mmol) in methanol (5.0 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. To the reaction solution, water (50 mL) was added, followed by extraction with ethyl acetate (50 mL). The thus obtained organic layer was washed twice with water (100 mL) and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. After vacuum concentration, the residue was purified with silica gel chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate=3:2) to yield the title compound (187 mg, 68%) as a colorless oil.
