To a stirring solution of 1-amino-3-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-propan-2-ol (1.1 g, 6.1 mmol) and triethylamine in 25 mL dichloromethane was added 2-chloro-3-methyl-5-naphthalen-2-yl-6-pyridin-4-yl-3H-pyrimidin-4-one. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 72 h. The organic layer was washed twice with 5% sodium bicarbonate, once with brine, then dried over magnesium sulfate. The product was purified on 90 g of silica eluting with 1 to 5% methanol/dichloromethane to give a yellow foam. M+1=493.2.
