Procedure

To the product from Step G (0.185 g, 0.373 mmol) was added HCl (1.86 mL, 11.2 mmol, 6.0M aqueous) and the solution was warmed to 90° C. and stirred for 0.5 hours. The mixture was cooled to ambient temperature and diluted with water (10 mL) and with CH2Cl2 (10 mL). The layers were mixed and separated and the aqueous phase was treated with saturated aqueous Na2CO3 until pH=10. The aqueous phase was extracted with CH2Cl2 (4×10 mL). The combined organic phase was washed with water and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The crude residue was purified by column chromatography (1 to 10% MeOH w/6% NH4OH/CH2Cl2) to afford 0.094 g (69%) of the desired product as a pale yellow/orange solid. MS ESI (+) m/z 363.2 (M+1) detected.
