2-Hydroxy-2-methyl-1-[4-(2-morpholin-4-ylethyl)phenyl]propane-1-sulfonamide (44 mg) was stirred with tetramethyl orthocarbonate (1 ml) and glacial acetic acid (0.2 ml) at 80° C. for 17 hours. The solvents were removed under reduced pressure. This gave the crude product with a molecular weight of 382.5 g/mol (C18H26N2O5S), which was used without further purification.
