To a liquid mixture comprising 250 ml of ethanol and 250 ml of toluene was dissolved 92 g of the (4-(2-(trans-4-n-propylcyclohexyl)ethyl)cyclohexene-1-yl)benzene mentioned above, 5 g of palladium/carbon (5%) was added as catalyst thereto, and they were subjected to a catalytic reduction in hydrogen gas atmosphere. After finishing of the reaction, the catalyst was filtered off and the solvent was distilled off under a reduced pressure to obtain a yellow oily product. This product was recrystallized from ethanol to obtain 58.5 g of (trans-4-(2-(trans-4-n-propylcyclohexyl)ethyl)cyclohexyl)benzene.
