Glycinamide hydrochloride (4.2 g, 38 mmol) and isobutyl 4-oxobutanoate (5 g, 31.6 mmol) were reacted together according to the procedure of example 2, to give the title compound 1 g (22.6%), m.p. 154°-157° C.
