The product of step (c) (0.33 g, 0.78 mmol) was dissolved in 4M hydrochloric acid in dioxan (10 ml) and stirred for 10 minutes. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the solid residue triturated with ethyl acetate. The white solid was filtered off and dried under high vacuum to give the title compound (0.22 g, 70%).
