In methylene chloride (1 ml) was dissolved tert-butyl [2-[[4-[(6-chloronaphthalen-2-yl)sulfonyl]piperazin-1-yl]carbonyl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothiazolo[5,4-c]pyridin-6-yl)acetate (200 mg), followed by the addition of trifluoroacetic acid (2 ml). The resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. After concentration under reduced pressure, diethyl ether was added to the residue. The precipitate so formed was collected by filtration, whereby the title compound (193 mg) was obtained as a colorless foam.
