Procedure
A solution of the protected amine of Example 86 (50 mg, 0.1 3 mmol) in 1,4-dioxan was treated with 4M hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxan (320 μL, 1.25 mmol) and stirred at room temperature for 2 days. The solution was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was diluted with water (15 ml) and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×10 ml). The combined organic phases were dried over anhydrous magnesium sulphate, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure to afford the title compound as a white solid and as the hydrochloride salt (19.5 mg).
