Pd(PPh3)4 (46.5 mg, 0.04 mmol) was added to a stirred mixture of potassium carbonate (55 mg, 0.40 mmol), 2-furylboronic acid (54 mg, 0.48 mmol) and the title compound of Example 1 (200 mg, 0.40 mmol) in degassed dioxan/water (10 mL of 4:1 mixture). The mixture was heated at reflux for 2 h and cooled. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue triturated with ethyl acetate to give an orange solid. Purification by flash column chromatography (elution with 50:1 dichloromethane/methanol) gave the title compound as a cream solid (121 mg, 58%).
