Procedure
The product of Example 18, Step 2, and 10% Pd/C are placed in a Parr bottle and mixed with ethyl acetate. The flask is purged with nitrogen and hydrogen and finally pressurized to 35 psi H2. The hydrogenation is run for 4 hours at room temperature. The catalyst is filtered off using a Celite pad and the filtrate is concentrated to give the pure product.
