Boc-Tyr(OBn)-Ser(OBn)-CO2Me (from Step 1 above, 2.64 g, 4.69 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (15 mL), cooled to 0° C. and TFA (5 mL) was added. The solution was warmed to room temperature and stirred for 4 hours. The solution was concentrated, taken up in CH2Cl2 and reconcentrated twice. The resulting oil was triturated with ether to provide 2.7 g of the title compound as a white solid.
