A solution of 1-[4-(2-hydroxy-ethoxy)-phenyl]-3-phenyl-propan-1-one (prepared in Example N; 6.0 g, 22.2 mmol) and triethylamine (NEt3) (4.60 mL, 33.3 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (50 mL) was cooled to 0° C. under a nitrogen atmosphere and treated with mesyl chloride (2.1 mL, 26.6 mmol). The mixture allowed to stir for 45 minutes, and then diluted with additional CH2Cl2 and washed with H2O. The organic layer was dried (MgSO4) and the solvent removed in vacuo to provide the title compound which was used without further purification. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 2.90 (t, 2 H), 3.20 (s, 3 H), 3.29 (t, 2 H), 4.32-4.34 (m, 2 H), 4.52-4.55 (m, 2 H), 7.05 (d, 2 H), 7.22-7.32 (m, 5 H), 7.95 (d, 2 H).
