Procedure

Compound 4 (0.10 g, 0.12 mmol) was dissolved in 10% CF3COOH in CHCl3 (10 mL) and stirred at room temperature in a stoppered flask for 60 min. The reaction mixture was evaporated to dryness in vacuo, the oily residue was purified by flash chromatography (EtOAc/hexane 5:1, 2 cm×15 cm), appropriate fractions pooled, solvent removed in vacuo and the white residue crystallized from MeOH/H2O to give 25 mg (60%) of compound 6 as white crystals.
