To a solution of 250 mg (0.55 mmol) of 5-butylidene-3-[4-(3-trifluoroacetylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-8-yloxy)butyl]-thiazolidine-2,4-dione in 5 ml of methanol, 0.05 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid was added. After the solvent was distilled off, the residue was washed with diethyl ether to yield 290 mg (100%, white solid) of the desired product.
