Procedure

Methyl 4-[3-[N-[3-(4-chlorophenylcarbamoyl)propionyl]-N-(4-chlorophenyl)amino]propoxy]benzoate (1.50 g) was dissolved in methanol (20 ml), and thereto was added 1N aqueous sodium hyroxide solution (4.83 ml), and the mixture was heated with stirring at 60° C. for 42 hours. After the reaction mixture was cooled, a neutralizing amount of conc. hydrochloric acid was added thereto, and the mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The resultant was suspended in 10 % aqueous methanol, and collected by filtration to give the desired product (1.04 g). mp. 197°-201° C.
