7,7-Dimethyl-1,2,3,4,7,8-hexahydro-quinolin-5 (6H)-one [prepared by the method of Grob and Kiefer, Helv. Chim Acta., 48 799, (1964)]was reacted with 1-bromopropane according to the procedure of Part (b) of Example 1 to give 7,7-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,7, 8-hexahydro-1-propyl-quinolin-5(6H)-one (17) as an oil.
