1.5 g (0.005 mol) N-(trans-4-nitroxycyclohexyl)nicotinic acid amide (Example 6/5) are dissolved in 4 ml acetic acid, 4 ml 30% hydrogen peroxide added thereto and stirred for 2 d at 40° C. After concentration and trituration with ethyl acetate, the crystals awe filtered off with suction. There remain 0.9 g of the title compound of the melting point 170°-171° C., i.e. 53% of theory.
