Reaction Steps
Following a procedure similar to that described in Example 11(d), 3,4 g of (2S, 3S)-2,3-dihydro-8-(4- fluorophenoxy)-3-hydroxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,5-benzothiazepin-4(5H)-one [prepared as described in step (c) above] were alkylated with dimethylaminoethyl chloride hydrochloride to give 3.63 g of the title compound as a syrup.
