Reaction Steps
Following a procedure similar to that described in Example 11(d). 0.68 g of (2S, 3S)-2,3-dihydro-3-hydroxy- 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-8-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenoxy)-1,5- benzothiazepin-4(5H)-one [prepared as described in step (c) above] was alkylated with 2-dimethylaminoethyl chloride hydrochloride to afford 0.72 g of the title compound as a gum.
