Following the general procedure of Example 50, but using 1.5 g (0.005 mol) of desipramine hydrochloride and 0.86 g (0.006 mol) chloroethyl chloroformate and carrying out the reaction at 5°-10° C. for 2 hours, gave 1.6 g (86%) of the title compound as a colorless oil.
