Procedure

3,4-Methylenedioxybenzyl alcohol 18-1 (6.2 g, 40.0 mmol) and ethyl 4-hydroxybenzoate 18-2 (6.65 g, 40.0 mmol) were reacted as in Example 14. The desired ester 18-3 was obtained as a white solid.
