Using the method of Example 53, 5,7-dichloro-3-methylimidazo[1,5-c]pyrimidine (from Example 35) was reacted with sodium methanethiolate to provide yellow solid 7-chloro-3-methyl-5-methylthioimidazo[1,5-c]pyrimidine, m.p. 153°-155° C. Analysis: Calculated for C8H8ClN3S: %C, 45.0; %H, 3.8; %N, 19.7; Found: %C, 44.8; %H, 3.5; %N, 19.7.
