A solution of 4-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)guanidino]-2-[(3-amino)propylthio]pyrimidine (180 mg.) in acetonitrile (2 ml.) was treated with dimethyl (cyanoimidio)dithiocarbonate (85 mg.) and the solution stood at room temperature for 18 hours. The crystalline solid which precipitated was collected to give 4-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)guanidino]-2-[3-(3-cyano-2-methylisothioureido)propylthio]pyrimidine (175 mg.), m.p. 189°-190°.
