100 g butyl imino dipropionic acid (0.46 mol) from example 7a was dissolved in 100 g H2O, whereupon 0.10 g EDTA was added and the temperature was increased to 50° C. After 30 minutes 3.2 g (0.475 mol) 50% hydrogen peroxide was added by drops during 20 minutes and the mixture reacted for 2 hours at 75° C. under a reflux cooler. Then the water was evaporated at 40° C. until a slightly yellow-brown oil formed.
