Prepared according to the method described in Example 1(d) above from (R)-N5 -(Cbz)-(R)-N-(2-hydroxy-1-phenylethyl)ornithine amide hydrochloride (2.6 g; 6.16 mmol; from step (b) above), 2-nitrophenyl diphenyl acetate (2.37 g; 7.39 mmol; see Example 1(c) above) and triethylamine (1.28 mL; 9.24 mmol) in 150 mL of CH2Cl2, yielding 2.5 g of the sub-title compound as a white, crystalline material.
