Reaction Steps

1 ml of methyl iodide was added to 9 mg of N-[1-(cyclooctylmethyl)piperidin-4-yl]xanthene-9-carboxamide, followed by stirring for 19 hours at room temperature. Methyl iodide was distilled off under reduced pressure, and 12 mg of the title compound as a pale yellow solid was obtained.
