5.1 g of N-[3-(o-ethoxyphenoxy)-2-hydroxy-propyl]-ethylenediamine ##STR19## are dissolved in 50 ml of toluene, and 3 g of potassium carbonate are added to the solution. A solution of 3.6 g of 2-methyl-4,5-dichloro-pyridazin-3-one ##STR20## in 50 ml of toluene is then added to the above solution at room temperature, while stirring, and the mixture is then heated under reflux for 17 hours, while stirring. The mixture is then allowed to cool to room temperature and is filtered off under suction from the inorganic residue, and the filtrate is concentrated in vacuo. The residual oil, which solidifies after a short time, is recrystallised from ethyl acetate. The N-[3-(o-ethoxyphenoxy)-2-hydroxy-propyl]-N'-[2-methyl-3-oxo-4-chloro-pyridaz-5-yl]-ethylenediamine ##STR21## is thus obtained.
