A 13 g sample of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-4-oxo-1-naphthylamine is dissolved in 100 ml of dichloromethane and stirred under nitrogen atmosphere. A solution of 6.86 g of isopropyl isocyanate in 45 ml of CH2Cl2 is then added over a 48 minute period at 20° C to 28° C. The mixture is stirred for 16 hours at room temperature and filtered to give the title compound, melting point 185° C to 188° C.
