0.02 mol of 6-benzoylbenzothiazolinone obtained in Example 1 are dissolved in 80 cm3 of 30% aqueous sodium carbonate solution in a 250 cm3 flask. 0.015 mol of sodium borohydride are added slowly, with agitation. The agitation is maintained for 16 hours at ambient temperature, followed by acidification with hydrochloric acid diluted 1:1. The precipitate formed is drained, washed with water and dried.
