To a solution of the aldehyde 11 (1.00 g, 2.93 mM) in EtOH (30 ml) was added hydroxylamine hydrochloride (0.31 g, 4.40 mM) and pyridine (0.47 g, 5.87 mM). After stirring overnight at room temperature, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The remaining residue was taken up in CH2Cl2, washed with H2O, dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. Crystallization from Et2O:hexane afforded 26, (0.67 g, 64%) as a white crystalline solid, mp=134°-135° C.
