Procedure
300 mg of methyl (E)-4-{4-((pyrimidin-2yl)amino)phenyl}-3-butenoate was dissolved in 5 ml of dioxane, followed by the addition of 3 ml of a 1N solution of sodium hydroxide. The obtained mixture was stirred at a room temperature for 2 hours, followed by the addition of 3 ml of 1N hydrochloric acid. The crystal thus formed was recovered by filtration and dried under a reduced pressure to obtain 200 mg of the title compound as a white crystal (yield: 70%).
