Procedure
To a cooled (−40° C.) solution of 28-2 (10.8 g, 69.2 mmol) in 150 mL CH2Cl2 was added (carbethoxymethylene)triphenylphosphorane (24.1 g, 69.2 mmol) in 100 mL CH2Cl2 gradually over 15 min. The reaction mixture was stirred for 12 hr while it was warmed up to room temperature. After solvent removal, the residue was purified using silica gel flash chromatography (EtOAc/hexanes: 1:8 to 1:6) to afford the desired product 28-3 as an oil.
