The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in step 2 of Example 2 (Method A) from 3-acetylamino-2-benzoyl-1-(ethoxycarbonyl)indole (step 1). 1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ: 9.78 (1H, br s), 8.24 (1H, d, J=8 Hz), 8.22 (1H, br s), 7.82 (2H, d, J=8 Hz), 7.64-7.52 (3H, m), 7.42-7.25 (2H, m), 7.16 (1H, t, J=8 Hz), 2.26 (3H, s) IR (KBr) ν: 3360, 1670, 1620, 1540, 730 cm−1
