The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in step 2 of Example 2 (Method A) from 3-acetylamino-2-benzoyl-4-chloro-1-(ethoxycarbonyl)indole (step 3). m.p.: 221-222° C. (ethyl acetate/hexane) 1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ: 9.12 (1H, br s), 7.82 (2H, d, J=7 Hz), 7.60-7.20 (6H, m), 7.12 (1H, d, J=7 Hz), 1.79 (3H, s) IR (KBr) ν: 3400, 3150, 1670, 1630, 1507, 1270, 780, 730 cm−1
