To a solution of 5-(5-amino-2-isopropyl-4-methoxy-phenoxy)-pyrimidine-2,4-diamine (0.100 g, 0.4 mmol) in 1 ml H2O and TFA (0.040 g, 0.4 mmol) was added thiophosgene (0.040 g, 0.4 mmol). After 1 h the mixture was neutralized with 2M NaOH and extracted with CH2Cl2. The combined organics were washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to afford 5-(2-isopropyl-5-isothiocyanato-4-methoxy-phenoxy)-pyrimidine-2,4-diamine (0.042 g, 36%) as brown foam [MH]+=334.
