A reaction mixture of N,N-dimethyl-7-(piperazin-1-yl)benzofuran-2-carboxamide (0.078 g, 0.29 mmol) (Example 39d), 1-(6-vinylpyridin-3-yl)ethanone (0.15 g, 1.00 mmol) and acetic acid (0.016 mL, 0.29 mmol) in n-propanol (1.5 mL) and water (0.10 mL) was heated at 69° C. for 2 days. The product was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound. Yield: 0.046 g (38%).
