2-(2-Methoxy-3-amino-phenyl)-5-methyl-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid 47b (280 mg, 0.94 mmol) was dissolved in 5 mL of hydrogen bromide. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight at 80° C. The reaction was monitored by TLC until the disappearance of the starting materials. The mixture was filtered and the filter cake was washed with ethyl acetate and dried to obtain the title compound 2-(2-hydroxy-3-amino-phenyl)-5-methyl-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid hydrobromide 47c (200 mg, yield 64%) as a yellow solid.
