Procedure

1-(4-Ethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)pyrrolidin-3-ol (1.0 g, 4.8 mol) was combined with 6M HCl (24 mL, 144 mmol) and heated to reflux overnight. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound.
