Reaction Steps
To a suspension of 2-(6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)-3-benzyloxy-6-[(1-iminoethyl)amino]-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one (0.6 g) in ethanol (30 ml) was added HCl 6N (2 ml). The mixture was stirred under reflux for 30 hours, cooled and the hydrochloride was filtered off. Yield: 40%.
